by 4 Used Trucks You Can Buy Instead of the Ford F-150
Yes, the Ford F-150 is a great pickup truck, both in the new and used car market. And yes, it is also a best-seller in both markets given the truck’s impressive powertrain performance, towing specs, EPA figures, and overall size. But this popularity acts against buyers who are looking for budget used trucks for sale in Greenville, SC, as a massive demand tends to shoot up the F-150’s price. If that is the case for you, we have listed 4 near-perfect alternatives to a used F-150. Truck makers in America are competitive and other players offer similar specs to fight for the throne that Ford F-150 currently holds.
1. Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The Silverado 1500 is Ford F-150’s direct competitor. It even beats Ford’s best-seller on grounds of towing capacity as it carries the highest rating in the pickup market – 12,500 pounds. Also, the cabin of the Silverado 1500 is better designed, infotainment is more modern, and is available in the used car market at a lower price than a used Ford. For a similar alternative that isn’t Ford, Chevy Silverado 1500 is the next best.
2. Toyota Tundra
In the used car market, Toyota Tundra may sell at a lower price than the Ford F-150 due to a comparative lack of popularity. And if you get such a deal with any of the top used car dealers in Greenville, SC, place the pickup on your to-buy list. Sure, Tundra’s EPA does not match with Ford’s impressive figures but you get Toyota’s industry-leading reliability scores along with excellent off-road capabilities. A used Tundra is worth every buck.
3. RAM 1500
If you ready to settle for a towing capacity that is a tad lower than the Ford F-150, then RAM 1500 is the pickup for you. Except for the hefty engine ratings, RAM does everything right with its pickup truck. You can buy a diesel version of the RAM 1500 and you will get impressive EPA figures of 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. Its suspension is where the pickup win hearts as the drive-feel is better than any of its contenders.
4. Honda Ridgeline
And if you do not need the bulk, the extra cabin or bed space, or the excessive engine power, look for the Honda Ridgeline in used car dealerships in Greenville, SC. Compact pickup trucks are becoming a trend now. Riding that, you can get a great resale of the Ridgeline a few years down the line. Plus, the Ridgeline is perfect for Greenville streets, gets the job done, and will not cost you a fortune in used car terms.
